C-section incision burning

posted 2nd Feb
I had a c-section January 21 and I have healed really well. I told my OB that one side of my incision was burning and felt puffy while I was still in the hospital. She told me that there was a fluid pocket under the incision and that it should go away on its own. She went ahead and removed my staples to allow it to leak if it would. (It didn't.) I had my one week check up January 29. He said everything looked good and scheduled a follow-up for 4 weeks pp. Now, 12 days after my c-section, I am still having a lot of burning/stinging pain on the one side of the incision. The pocket of fluid is still there and seems to be harder now than before. Honestly, you wouldn't really notice my incision except for the swelling puffiness on the one side. I cannot lay on that side and it feels as though I am ripping on the inside if I sit or stand too quickly. It is not red and I don't have a fever or anything else to indicate infection. I've been avoiding medicine. I have in fact only taken 3 Tylenol 3s since I had my c-section. I just don't like being on any kind of medicine unless I HAVE to.

Have any of you experienced this kind of stinging, burning pain along your incision? What did you find helped relieve the pain or swelling from the fluid beneath the incision?

I'm not sure because i have never had a C-section but it's only been 12 days since a major operation, My firends that have had C-sections said they had burning for up to six weeks, maybe you need to go to your OB or call them all the best

I had a c-section back in october and all incision pain was gone after about 2 weeks.

If you're worried about the pocket of fluid go back and see a doc sooner. My friend had a c-section 3weeks after me and she got a fluid pocket and it got a slight infection. so she got some anti-biotics and it cleared up. x

Hope you feel better soon. xxx

I'm going to call about having my drs update my maternity leave information from 6 weeks to 8 weeks because of the c-section, so I guess I will ask them then about the fluid. I just feel like it should be draining or breaking down by now. I really want to prevent infection if at all possible.
