Is there ANY hope for me??

posted 2nd Feb
With my first pregnancy, I had twins and had severe hypermemis (really REALLY bad morning sickness) that lasted the ENTIRE pregnancy. With my 2nd pregnancy, the morning sickness wasn't quite as bad (or at least I knew how to manage the medicines better) but it still lasted the entire pregnancy. And here I am again, pregnant with morning sickness. I'm only about 10 weeks currently, but is there anyone else that has had morning sickness throughout other pregnancies and then finally had a "normal" pregnancy?

I always thought if you had HG then you were doomed to have it with every pregnancy....

That is sooo not what I wanted to hear! I have to be on Zofran & Phenergan just to make it thru the day, and even then some days get pretty scary.

nope, I just looked it up and theres only a 15% chance of it recurring after the first pregnancy. I guess i'm just "lucky"

Sorry I'm not going to be much help, but I was REALLY sick the entire time with my daughter and now I'm 32 weeks pregnant with my son and I am still REALLY sick. I have spells that I feel better and soon as I think I'm finally over it BAM it hits me again. Some of us pregnant girls are not as lucky as others lol. Good luck

that's how I was with the last pregnancy. I went thru times where I was more functioning than others. But I was sick up until the day I had him. I have very low expectations of the m/s going away with this pregnancy. I was just wondering if there was any hope for me. I will be seeing a diff dr at least for part of this pregnancy since my usual dr is on a LOA, and they aren't sure when she's going to be back. Its a dr in the same practice, I just haven't seen him before. I'm hoping he will be as understanding with me and my medicine as my usual dr is.

He should be. Most doctors will give you zofran. The only problem with that is I usually throw it up before it has a chance to work   I've almost given up on the idea of feeling better. I only have 8 weeks left thankfully. With my daughter I actually threw up while pushing her out. It's crazy how the baby comes out and the N/V immediately goes away.

I have to have csections and with the last one the anestisiologist was having to hold one of the vomit catchers up for me during the surgery! He was very nice about it. And I know he will give me the Zofran, its just if he is willing to jump through the hoops my insurances makes them in order to get the amount of Zofran I need.
