Pure Obsessional OCD aka "Pure O" ?

Does anyone deal with this form of OCD? If you're medicated, what are you on and how long did it take for it to start working? If you aren't medicated..What do you do?

Pure obsessional OCD - sometimes referred to as "Pure O" is experienced by some individuals as obsessions that manifest as intrusive, unwanted thoughts, impulses or "mental images"

I do. I just keep saying "stop" in my head when it starts, usually works.


It's been better since i left BD and my life is nearly stress-free.

You think the word stop and it really stops?

Holy crap.. I might have that.

For ex. Ill be'ok going to shave my legs'
Then ill have this thought where ill shave and it will rip up my skin, tgen it will cause me to fall on blood, bust my head on the faucet and like bleed to death... So I rarely shave..

Or sometimes crossing tge road ill think I might get hit..even if no car is in the view.. And ill auto matically think, ill throw makenzey she will be fine and let the car hit me... Or ill run across the road.

Oh gezz, I would hate to add this to my list of things mentally wrong with me. Uck. I have horrible images, esp when I'm driving... I will feel like I'm about to get hit and no one is in sight. And other times, I rethink over and over when the car hits me, how I will move the car around to protect my kids from getting hurt, only me.

I could probably think of more things, but I won't name them all. My physh would call this part of my aniexty. I think it could be more, after reading your post.

I am the exact same way with the car thing!

I have a phych and one of my biggest things is... I always feel like someone is out to hurt me, or kill me. But, that has a lot to do with me being raped multiple times and my abortions I think. Please no judgement, but I always wonder.... am I the only one that thinks someone is out to hurt them/kill them.

I hate that feeling 

Need to take meds for it... It only comes around in high times of stress or anxiety.. I obsess about vomitting, being sick, germs, whether the fridge is closed, oven off, door locked, lights in the car on or off... It gets ridiculous.

That is just the OCD regular part of it. This I think she is talking about a different type. I have major OCD, I have been diagnosed with that.

I think so, I see her again in a few weeks and will talk to her. I told her about hearing and thinking I see someone alot when Im driving or taking a shower. And she said she will most likely add more meds, we just have to go up a little at a time.

I'd had thoughts that weren't mine before but not like the "Pure O" intrusive thoughts. I hope she'll give you something that will help.
