measuring 6+ weeks ahead*repost*
posted 2nd Feb
I had my 26 week appointment yesterday and she said i have gained a little more than she liked (23lb). She asked if i had any concerns and i told her yes i feel bigger than im supposed to be. She said well we will measure you and see. So she put the tape on and it was measuring at 34 weeks. Her face was shocked and she said wow that's alot and re aligned the tape and measured again this time it was 32 weeks. She wants my diabetes test done ASAP and come back in 2 weeks to remeasure also an ultrasound the ultrasound couldn't be done until feb 28 and im worried something is wrong. My 20 week ultrasound was normal with normal fluid and baby was right on track. Question is has anyone gone through this and what was the outcome if
(In advance on my phone if this looks crazy i apologize)

Yup, my son measured 4-6 weeks ahead nearly my whole pregnancy. He measured 42 weeks when I was 37. I had him at 39 weeks, 1 day. He was a little on the bigger side, but that's about it.

My first thought is that maybe baby was in an odd position making you seem bigger?

I dont know really what it could be yet my diabetes test is monday. If its.not that i have googled what access fliud could mean and its only bad things. I looked it up because that was the only other thing she suggested. So now i guess it's hurry up and wait until testing

Stay. Away. From. Google.
Extra fluid could also mean nothing but a little extra monitoring.
I'd calm down, i know it's hard but stressing won't help you OR baby.

A friend of mine had a crazy amount of extra fluid which made her measure ahead... just near the end of her pregnancy though. Her son was 8 lbs 8 oz and perfectly healthy. She was in the high risk area of our hospital when she gave birth though.... but I think her case was abnormal with the amount of extra fluid she had.
