If you are bipolar...

posted 2nd Feb
Or know someone with bipolar disorder...

After being diagnosed and starting on their/your medication, how long did it take to see a difference? I have recently been diagnosed with bipolar type 2 disorder. And I up my lamictal soon. I just wonder how the change will do for me. I am still just sitting around like, "This stuff doesn't seem to be working yet.. lalaaaa".

I just hope that the medicine my phyc has me on, does work and I can tell a difference as well as the others around me can.

Thanks for any advice or help

About 2 weeks before your body full adjusts to the meds.. you have to take it consistently as well for minimal side effects.

Okay, I hope soon then to see some difference!   Thanks for the reply! I also take a lot of other daily meds as well to do with my other mental stuff. But, I was more concerned with just this main medication. The others, I have been on since Oct.12'

On average it takes 4-6 weeks for the medincations to reach their full effect, but you should start seeing improvement about 2 weeks after you start taking them.

Good news is they wouldnt have given you scripts that cant co-exist in your body. Bad thing is waiting for the adjustment. it sucks   Sorry but it gets better fast.

3 times a day is a high script

Yes, my mom is a RN and stays on me about the zanax. I take a low dose... or well the phyc says its low. (0.5mg) Some days I will only take it one time and then a half later. I don't want to be forced to take anything, if my body doesnt feel I need it.

yeah that is low, the dosages also varies people to people, but I always tell people only take that when needed not a med to ever take everyday or multiple times a day if you can avoid doing so

your mom is wise haha
