Boy weighing 3 pounds at exactly 29 weeks

posted 2nd Feb
I went for a follow up us the other day and they said out boy is weighing 3 pounds!! My youngest is 7 so things have changed since then the doctor explained that now the determine weight by measuring the bones by length and size. I've also read that babies put on 1/2 a pound a week until 38 weeks. So the way I see it is he's on track to be 8-9 pounds at the most? Is this what you ladies have been told as well?

When I had an ultrasound at 36 weeks with my twins they said both girls weighed 7lbs. I delivered them the next week and one weighed 5lbs. the other weighed 6lbs. Also when I was pregnant with my daughter they said she would be 9lbs. according to ultrasound and she was only 7lbs. when she was born. So the ultrasound can be off by a little.

It's not an "exact science". It can be off by a pound or two either way like Mel said.

They can be off but my son was estimated at 4 lbs at 31 weeks. I had him at 39 weeks and he was 8 lbs 14 oz.

Thanks Ladies! I'm measuring right where I should be so that's all that matters I guess. With my 2nd I measured way behind and they said she was going to be 5 pounds maybe. I lost a lot of weight during that pregnancy she ended up being 7' 12" we had to send someone to the house to get newborn and 0-3 month clothes. I'm remarried to a very big gut 6' 4" and 220 pounds  They US tech said his bones are long which doesn't surprise me my DH Father is 6' 7", my farther was 6' 2", I'm 5' 3" but I'm pretty sure out son will take after all the men in our family

I just had my 34 weeks u/s and they said my son was weighing 6 pounds 1 ounce which I don't disbelieve because with my first they said at 33 weeks he was 5 pounds 5 ounces and at 34 weeks when he was born he weighed 7 pounds 2 ounces.

My daughter who is 7 they were very accurate with, my son, who is now 4 months they were 2 1/2 pounds off with. They had him weighing way more than he was and I definitely had a lot of anxiety because of it. haha.

Lol.... Guess we just have to pray that our poor vajayjays don't split into two. Until they figure it out how to measure these babies exactly.
