7 weeks and still not able to gain
posted 2nd Feb
I'm 7 weeks pregnant and I keep losing weight, I'm a few pounds under my pre-pregnancy weight of 120, I can't stop eating, I'm so hungry all of the time. I do not have morning sickness so I can't blame that. Has anyone else had early pregnancy weight loss?

Yes. .. I didnt start gaining until mid 2nd trimester after losing 3-5 pounds and maintained that all thru 1st. I didnt have morning sickness either but hopefully u r eating healthier even tho more. I know that's y I lost weight. I quit drinking energy drinks and some fast foods.

I didn't gain until week 17 when my boobs started getting bigger with Asher. For the first few weeks, I would wake up once or twice a night and eat a couple bowls of cereal or like 3 sammiches before I could go back to sleep. There was no way I could sleep unless my belly was full.

I lost a lot of weight. In the end I only gained 4 lbs with first and 8 lbs with 2nd baby. After I had my first baby I was at 168 when I walked in the hospital to have her. When I went home 4 days later I was at 133. I was all baby and water so I think you are ok.

I've always had issues with keeping my weight up to a healthy level, even though I'm not an active person and I eat healthy and in large quantities, but with my first 2 pregnancies I gained easily, 50 lbs with my first (yikes!) and a decent 23 lbs with my second (much better) so it just struck me as strange that I'm having such a hard time keeping my weight up this time. I still eat healthy but I am eating almost double what I usually do and am still starving and still losing. Thank goodness I'm not suffering ms, although at least then I'd have something to blame the weight loss on. Maybe my metabolism just hasn't slowed down yet. If this keeps up I'm going to eat us out of house, lol. So glad none of my kids are teenagers yet, I don't think I could afford the food budget if they were.

Its normal to not gain and even lose weight in the beginning. Especially the first 8-12 weeks. As long as you are eating healthy and your doctor isn't worried about it, you should be fine.

I will be setting up my first appt. next week, I have to wait for insurance to go through first. I'm a little leery of my first visit as 2 out of my 4 previous pregnancies ended up as blighted ovums, so yeah, it is a little scary. My dr.'s office has a portable sonogram machine though so at least I'll be able to find relief one way or another early on for that particular worry.

I lost weight my first 3 months and still have hardly gained anything, but I ate constantly and wasn't sick hardly ever. The doctor said it's semi-normal for women of lower weight or smaller built bodies
