How long do you wait to test?

AF is due today and I have 1 test. I live way out in the country so I can't just go out and buy another test. I've never been pregnant and have hormone imbalances. I'm concerned about hormone levels and would want to get them checked if I was pregnant. So how long do you think I should wait to take my 1 test. BTW AF is usually here every 27 or 28 days exactly.

With my first, I tested at about 4 days before af with bfp and at about the same time with my 2nd. With this one I waited until 4 days late as I've had several incidences of being 4 days late only to have af start. I also noticed I ovulated a few days later than usual so I decided to wait for that reason as well.

I thought I wasn't having any pregnancy symptoms and then I tried to eat lunch and could barely eat my food my stomach felt so sick. The only other thing is my hips have been hurting all week. Both of these things are not something I ever have problems with. I never get sick to my stomach!
