Hot tubs and pregnancy?!

posted 2nd Feb
Okay. I totally forgot that it is not recommended that pregnant women get in hot tubs, and I got in one last night   I wasn't in it for no more than 10 minutes at the most before Bryce reminded me and we got out to go swimming instead. I'm 8 weeks pregnant. Do you think I hurt the baby any?? Omg I feel terrible now

I went in a hot tub when I was like 6 weeks, my son was born Jan 7. I also had a perfectly healthy uneventful pregnancy besides that I was over due 9 days lol

Your fine I went into the hot tub while pregnant with my baby girl. She is 6 weeks old and perfectly healthy. Only stay in it for 5-10 minutes at a time take a break and go back in. I asked my doctor and he said it was ok just not for long periods of time.

If I remember correctly as long as your temp doesn't rise higher than 101 or something it is fine? I could be wrong tho.

It's fine as long as you don't stay in long enough to overheat yourself.

I doubt it I took really hot baths with my kids and they seem to be fine, and I'm pretty sure my tub water is a lot hotter than a hot tub.

I went in one when I was pregnant with my son..I didn't even know it was dangerous until I read about it later...I was scared until I went to the doctors and heard his heartbeat..they only warn you about it because if you're in it for too long and your body temperature goes up it could harm your baby..I'd just avoid them from now on.

the reason they say that is cuz whatever your body temp is the amniotic fluid is either 1 or 2 more degrees higher.. thats why you are supposed to go to the hospital if you get a fever over 100 or 101 cant remember which exactly. Like the other moms said as long as you dont stay in long enough to elevate you temp too much. my doc always told me to not get my bath water over 100 degrees
