Quoting Crystal Marie S.:" It's actually part of a basic psychological profile. Research it yourself. Triggers, behaviors all those ... [snip!] ... child predators. So yes, I do know that it is true. Just because it doesn't sound logical to you doesn't mean it's not true."

I have also read and watch docs on these things as well. I cannot agree with you that that an unclothed child is going to have the same affect on a pedo as a clothed child. It varies from pedo to pedo. Yes, they can be attracted to a clothed child but a naked child or partial unclothed child could also draw them in more or have a bigger trigger for them. But that also varies from pedo to pedo, for example one pedo might be more attracted to an 11 year old in a school girl outfit then a naked 3 year old in a bath tub. Theres no way of knowing and theres nothing wrong with being cautious that your childs unclothed picture doesnt end up being circulated for pervs to beat off to

  this pretty much.

If I post a pic that has someone else's child in it, I ask them first and then tag them in it. The only people who add pictures of my kids are pretty much family and they have them in albums set to where only other family members can see them. Only one of my friends would even have pics of my kids and I don't think she has added them on there.

If they are attracted to the child, clothing does not matter.

I don't use FB but my husband posts pictures of our daughter. We never posted diaper/bath/birthday suit pictures, not because we are worried about predators but because of cultural reasons.
On that note, I saw someone who posted a picture of her niece, around 6 years old and she was wearing nothing but underwear. I thought it was a little weird, but different strokes for different folks.

Edit: some of our friends have pictures of my daughter on FB. It doesn't bother me.

I saw someone once that posted a pic of their daughter with a fake tattoo right above their butt crack and she was sticking her butt out for the camera, caption said "she wanted to have one like mommy"

I thought that was kind of inappropriate but like you said, different strokes for different folks I guess

I post pictures of my kid, and my Mom and sister might share them, but thats it. I dont let people tag themselves, or anything like that. My profile is private, and I only have people who I know really well/family on my friends list. My friends know not to post pictures of my kids with out asking first. I'm a really private person in general though, and I have a few stalkers out there lol, so I am pretty carefull about what I post and where.

Just to clarify, this newborn pic of the baby girl was pretty up close and personal. I was shocked that her vagina was so "out there" (and it really was, not like a distance shot) for everyone to see. And this was posted by the Aunt...not the Mother.

For me, I think about my son and when he is older, maybe he would be embarassed if I had nude pictures of his on the computer for my friends to see? I also consider that somepeople are not as private as me and have open profiles with pictures of their children and their names....a predator could learn a lot about that child, where they play, go to school, and so on, and find them somwhere and use what they ahve learned on FB.

it's a newborn baby. i don't see the big deal. alot of people have naked pictures of babies that they show to alot of other people because they think it's cute. alot of people have seen my naked baby ass (and i'm sure vagina) because my mom has naked baby pictures of me. it's whatever. i'm not embarrassed by it. i have naked pictures of DD also.

the only thing that has kind of concerned me about putting pics of DD on facebook (all of my settings are private and everything, though) is that i have a friend whose son's picture was actually stolen from FB and she passed him off as her own child. it was kind of creepy. i think the girl worked with her SO and that's how she got the picture. she was reported by SEVERAL people for doing so and her profile was taken down.

i'm not generally worried about people i don't know seeing my kid. and i have alot of friends that post pictures of her and tag me in them.

Omg. If a predator is going to look at children, they're going to look at children. There are no amount of privacy settings in the world that can change that. How can you truly live if you base your life on pervert proofing? Wouldn't you rather them look at your child than actually touch them?

This! I'm more hesitant about posting pictures of my son because I don't want idiots I don't like from my real life to see them or use them.

I can't believe you just said that. Seriously. Like theres something wrong with wanting to a keep a pedophile from looking at your baby in a sexual way. Just because they do it doesnt mean we have to accept it and live with it.

You all are giving predators more power over your life then they should have.

I guess you can chalk this up to different strokes for different folks. I come from a very reserved family. My parents were very big on privacy. Now a days people are comfortable sharing more than what would be considered appropriate 40 years ago. I guess I just inherited that from my parents. For example, I nursed my son, I never nursed in public situations becuaase it just was not for me. I didnt like the idea of feeling so exposed. I had no issue with other woman doing it in stores etc. but for me, it was not in my comfort zone. As for how do I truly live? I live a very fulfilling life and I have so much fun with my little family. I share lots of fun moments on FB just not moments when my child is undressed because thats what works for me.
