Dumb cooking question

posted 2nd Feb
I plan on making meals ahead of time and freezing them before DD gets here. I made the mistake of NOT doing this last time. I've never fresh prepared a meal and froze it for later consumption. So stupid question but say I make a lasagna and freeze it, when I go to cook it do I need to let it thaw and THEN bake it? Or just put the whole frozen thing in the oven? TIA

It depends how long you want it to take to bake. I normally thaw in the fridge. I put it in the fridge the night before so it's mostly thawed then put it in the oven at dinner time.

does it get liquidy when you let it thaw? like you know how sometimes tomato sauce gets watery when it thaws?

I haven't had any problems with it becoming liquidy. I know lots of people who freeze lasagna without problems.

One of my favorite things to freeze are soups! You can pour them in the freezer bags and lay them flat to freeze, doesn't take up much room. So, if you need some "easy to store" meals those are great!

Oh now THAT I didn't think about! That's a great idea! I made a home made baked potato soup I'll have to look into freezing that
