Breastfeeding baby, when did you introduce a bottle?

posted 2nd Feb
DD is 8 weeks today. She's a big booby baby. I've wanted to pump to allow DD1 & DH to feed her as well but I'm nervous about it. She's a pro at breastfeeding at this point. If you've breastfed, when did you introduce a bottle for the occasional feedings?? DD is dying to feed her baby sister but I wanted to make sure I don't screw it up this time. With DD1 I introduced the bottle before we mastered breastfeeding to give my nipples a break & by 3 months we had to switch to formula

If you already have it pretty well mastered at this point I don't see the harm in introducing it at 8 weeks.
We introduced the bottled for the first time with dd around that time and it never caused any problems with her, she continued to EBF until a year (newer had formula) and still is nursing now at 25 months. The only problem was that she want a huge fan of the bottle, definitely preferred it straight from the source, but she would take one if it was offered.

We never used bottles. He used a bottle for the first time at 10.5 months and it wasn't for breastmilk. DD1 can always help feed her once she is eating baby food.

They say after 4 weeks you can introduce the bottle, so now would be a good time for you. But because it's early it would be best to get into the habit of offering it regularly. My son took a few bottles for me early, around 5 or 6 weeks old, so I was like great he can do it! Then I waited a month to try it again and by then he refused and hasn't taken one for anyone since.

Around 8 months I introduced a cup. He wouldn't take it. No bottles.

I have her a bottle at 1 week and she never was confused(had a doctors appt) and then we did it again at 6 weeks. She's never drank out of a bottle but those two times and she does fine.

Thanks for the input ladies! I think I'm gonna give it a try. I received a bunch of enfamil products in the mail yesterday & one of the items included a bottle that seems to be more breast like. She doesn't always like her sookie sooo I'm not holding my breath lol. I would just like DD & DH to have that special bonding time too
