Very normal. I didn't sleep for 2 days straight at 28 weeks.

Once, I went for a week without sleeping. I had insomnia anyway and I was in the mental hospital for many reasons and they were trying to figure out some meds.
For a day I thought I was a chicken cos I was so out of it.

i'm 37 weeks and i'm lucky if i get a normal nights sleep once a week!! i fall asleep, but i wake up about 4-5 times a night.. whether its because of a dream, or because i cant get comfortable, or because my hips hurt, or just because.. it never fails!!

I've had insomnia on & off wince i had my 1st.....
Apparently it's "on" tonight. Last night too - last night I stayed awake all.night.long. Tonight I slept 5 hrs & then woke up. So right now I am going on almost 48 hrs with 5 hrs sleep & don't even feel close to sleep...but come noon I'll hit at least a 2 hr drag window, I know it...and neither of my kid snap anymore. I'd be okay if I could nap - that is what I used to do when my kids were younger & I felt fine, even on very little sleep. I can sleep short bits usually - like 2 hrs at a time, but getting more than 5 is unusual.

The doctor said you can take Tylenol PM or something else it started with an S. But first check with your doctor.

talk to your doctor about what you can try. my doctor gave me a small dose of ambien to take as needed. because i have insomnia anyways and with the pregnancy it just got worse! the ambien helps allot. i only wake up 1 or 2 times a night to pee. but im 38 weeks so thats normal lol

My doc said to take benedryl a couple times a week. Which I am so thankful for. I don't sleep at all unless I take it. I was on sleep medication before I got pregnant and can't take it while pregnant. I think the most sleep I get a night is about 4 to 5 hours on and off.

I'm afraid so. The OB had me try sleepytime tea, benadryl, tylenol pm, and ambien. Even with ambien, I still wake up at 3 or 4 every morning, wide awake. I never feel tired but I feel exhausted during the day. It's very frustrating.

Thanks for all of the replies, hopefully tonight will be better than last! I finally dozed off about 4:30, woke up at 6:00 to let my puppies outside, then had to get up at 10:00. So I did end up with a few hours sleep! Glad to know i'm not just going crazy!
