About Rodrick James for a boys name  

I'm not pregnant, but if i ever were to have another boy that's the name I'd like to use. I've only ever liked 2 names for a boy. The first night i felt my son kick i started calling my belly Carlisle even though i didn't find out the gender. And Rodrick is the only other name I've ever liked. (i don't want girls so i don't think about girls names much)

Honestly, I'm not a fan, but if you like it that's all that matters.

I like it.

I like odd names... Not completely crazy, but i try to stay away from the trendy names. Before i had my son i really wanted a girl and the two names i like have since been used for main characters in 2 books so I'd never use them now. (Isabella rose/Anastasia rose) but twilight and 50 shades of grey ruined it for me....

Yeah, I don't like the 'trendeigh' names either. Rodrick isn't terrible, it's just not something I would pick. At least it's spelled normally!

Carlisle was almost pushing it for me, if i hadn't been so in love with the name and dreaming about it nightly i almost wouldn't have used it. Definitely like normal spelt names. My mom wanted me to name my son "carlyle" i think it looks stupid spelt like that. I also "kinda" like the name Lestat. But some people would recognize it and that's why i don't think I'd use it.

Rodrick is a character in Diary of Wimpy Kid. He's the older brother. Only reason I know this is because of my brothers. There are books and movies. They are pretty popular books among the younger generations. BUT it's not my favorite name. The only reason I mentioned that is because you mentioned you couldn't use Isabella or Anastasia now because of Twilight and Fifty Shades of Grey.

Back to brainstorming.... Maybe I'll have to get over the fact that some people would recognize lestat..... at least i don't think anyone my age would..

I do but I think it may be that you're right about someone closer to our ages (I think you're close to my age) wouldn't recognize it

I'm 22   and have baby fever like no other at the moment if that's not obvious   i know very few people who have read that book or watched the movie. But I'm a book worm and love fantasy

Lol true! I named my daughter Ariadne. Ariadne is in Greek Mythology. As Dionysus' wife. Pretty old fashioned there
