I don't know what do

About a tooth ache it has the entire left side of my face in excruciating pain. Like I have the shakes it's so bad. I have two or three cavities I wanted to get looked at I knew were there and the last few months pregnancy has made them so much worse. But NO dentist around will see me until after she's born. I do not know if I can handle 2-3 more weeks of this pain. What do I do? I took tylenol and ambosol isn't working anymore.

They should still see you even if you're pregnant, but probably won't want to operate or do x-rays. You should get checked though because you could have abscess infections. At the very least you would need antibiotics.

I called around to over three different counties around here to the places that accept my insurance and NO ONE will see me. I'll be calling me OB at least, because I can't prove it's an abscess without an x-ray. Nothings hot or swollen... But that's what I'm worried about as well. My teeth aren't bad, but I have a few from being a lazy kid, and then once I got pregnant it was ALL OVER for those cavities. I literally cannot stop shaking. do you think my OB would give me a course just in case? I don't know if Doctors can do that?

Maybe she could call in a recommendation for a dentist to see you or something? I'd call and leave a message with the nurse

I had a hard time finding one that would see me since Im pregnant. I was lucky enough to get in to a dental clinic connected to a hospital. You should check to see if any hospitals around you have a dental clinic. I understand about the x-rays but I think waiting and risking infection would be worse for the baby.

It's one am here, and I'm not in labor. But I'll call tomorrow especially if it's still this bad. I mean I've had tooth aches come and go but this one, it's been hours... it's driving me up a wall. She did and gave me a sheet to give them. And they were still like "The dentist will not see you, he cannot even do an exam. Please come back after you've given birth."

I think I figured out what it is. I have over crowding, and I haven't gotten my wisdom's yet. And I think one may be trying to come in and there is NO room. And it's pressing the two bad ones together, because the whole bottom left hurts even the ones without cavities... And one tooth has started to turn. UGH I hate this.

ask ur ob/gyn about it and see if they will refer you to a dentist in your area becasue usually if your baby doctor refers you then one will see you i had a friend have the same problem and her ob referred her to a dentist that he knew would see her while she was pregnant hope this helps good luck

Yeah there's nothing much you can do tonight. orajel, salt water rinse, and Tylenol is pretty much it. I know when I had my toothache a few weeks ago when my filling fell out I was going crazy calling everywhere and trying to get in. If you can feel a hole you can try getting a filling kit from walgreens or walmart. If the nerves are exposed it will hurt 10 times more than just a normal toothache especially if air touches it. They say when you whole side of the face hurts you waited too long and it could be infected, the salt water rinse should help that.

I had no idea this tooth was as bad as it was until about a month ago. Never hurt never noticed a whole. Nothing, and then one day I was flossing and BAM I somehow created a hole. Makes me nervous the thought of an infection in my gums because I've heard that can be fatal, and on top of that I'm such a clean person that makes me feel gross   I just wish it would stop hurting for tonight so I could sleep. I wish I had thought of that kit before SO went to the store, I sent him out for benydril because I can't get comfortable or sleep. And I wish I had thought of that too.

i had severe dental issues with my 3rd child. pain so bad i wanted to jump in front of a train. the dentist had no problem working on my teeth at 8 months pregnant. i guess every dentist is different. if your feeling that much pain id go to the e.r. hope u get some relief.

I'm currently taking Tylenol 3 (w/ codeine) because I lost a filling and had exposed nerves - my jaw constantly ached and I felt as though I wanted to harm myself to end the pain; ( some of the worst pain I've EVER felt ). I thought my jaw was overcrowded as well, I just got a molar extracted - but I said all that to say this, I begged for relief and an X-ray and even popped up at the dentist crying, they gave me an XRAY and HALF of my jaw was infected !!! I had a large pocket of infection in there ! PLEASE keep calling and see if you can get in, no one should suffer such pain. My teeth aren't bad either, I had no signs besides pain or knowing I lost a filling that infection was a possibility. Good luck mama ! You CAN request your OB/GYN OR MIDWIFE write you a prescription for Tylenol 3 in the mean time.
