anyone else

has anyone ever had to take 5 10 MEQ potassium pills in one dose before? is it even safe?

I have.....along with an IV of potassium. Actuallly on more than one occasion. Once a few days after my previous pregnancy and once a couple weeks ago during this pregnancy. I never had any complications from it. And if you have a serious potassium deficiency the benefits outweigh any possible risks.

so u have been prescribed the same mg ii said in my post.. its potassium cl er 10 meq 5 in 1 dose.. im taking it but im scared to but the pharmasist just said he has seen it writen for higher.. so i guess im taking it

I just went and looked mine are the 20's and I have to take them twice a day...along with iron pills and my prenatal vitamins...

so you are taken just 10 MEQ less then i just took.. every day?

Yes I take them every day. 2 at a time actually so im taking more than you. I have had some issues with chest pains and such and they told me that potassium is a major influence on your heart b/c its the vitamin that makes your muscles work. So I guess they decided not to fool around with a smaller dosage...

Yea my potassium was crazy low... even after all the pills in the hospital and the IV's it still wasnt in the normal range. I honestly feel alot better now that I take them though.

Yah i feel better after just 2 hours ehh it must have been getting bad cause i was feeling sick had no energy was having anxiety and panic attacks and couldnt eat! i will never question my dr again hah
