No more diaper bag?

posted 1st Feb
So, I'm new to having a child potty trained. I've spent close to three and a half years hauling around a diaper bag every time we go out in public. I know accidents can still happen though....

So, I was wondering, would it be better to keep the diaper bag around and just not pack diapers...maybe a change of clothes and wipes in case of an accident? Stickers as rewards?

Or should I just go ahead and get a child back pack for her. So she can haul her own stuff around. What does everyone else do?

A tub
Haven't thought of that.

Thanks for the idea. Wait...what if you're just going on a walk. Do you bring the tub with you? Cause I don't have a stroller anymore and my purse isn't all that big to fit a tub of toddler clothes in.

The only time we really go on walks is at the duck pond nearby and we drive there, so the tub is there. I guess in that case, maybe get her a little backpack to keep a change of clothes in.

The backpack idea is cute. I'm sure she'd love carrying one around. Let her pick it out too

I have a grocery bag with extra clothes for the older girls in the back of the car. I also have the diaper bag (for baby) that I carry around with regular wipes in it for those "just in case" moments. No stroller here, girls walk and I wear baby.

I have a back pack for DD that I will be putting extra pants, undies, and socks in as well as wipes. But, since I have the newb, so far I just keep everything in my bag..

I stop carrying a diaper bag long before they potty train. My daughter is 2 now and I haven't carried the diaper bag around since she was probably 18 months. As long as I can fit a diaper and small container of wipes in my purse and I have my boobs with me, I'm good.
We keep a change of clothes for each of the kids in the car all the time. If we're just going for a walk though, I'm probably not going to be going far enough away with a toddler walking that we can't get home in the case of an accident. It's not like a two year old is going to want to walk for miles. If they have an accident we turn and walk right home for a bath and a change of clothes.

dd is 6 months and i can count on 2 hands how many times i have used my diaper bag. I mean,.. i do use a "hobo" bag so its pretty big. I keep probably 6 diapers in my purse then i always have the diaper bag in the car for "just in case" with extra clothes, diapers ext... if im going anywhere long i just bring the bottle bag and throw a can of formula in it.

DD Ha a blue elephant backpack like this

we keep a change of clothes and wet wipes in it. we use wetwipes for everything now not just potty so we will always carry them.

If we're on a all day tip there will be two changes of clothes and wetwipes along with some treats

and if i'm just running to the store I don't bring anything. though there is always a pair of extra clother in the trunk stored with the spare and emergenc kit

I rarely carry a diaper bag at all. I have a roomy purse with a change of panties and pants in it for my oldest, a couple diapers for my youngest and a pack of wipes for all reasons and my wallet.

I do keep a large diaper bag in my vehicle with a few more changes of panties and pants for the oldest. she's been potty trained over a year, I'm just one of those over cautious moms. lol
