OP if you're going to breastfeed, just breastfeed for a year. It makes no sense to switch to formula at 6 months, and then switch again to cow's milk in another 6 months[because you're not going to want to deal with formula after 1 year if you don't have to, trust me]. He might not even take it.

I BF for 3 1/2 weeks but I wasn't making enough milk and my daughter wasn't gaining weight and was getting dehydrated.
I've cried and cried over having to go to formula.
I HATE it.
It stinks and it stains clothes. In the middle of the night, it's a hassle. I can't just pop a boob out anymore, I have to get up and mix the stuff. It's toooo expensive too because my daughter has to have special formula because of allergies.
Can you tell I hate formula? lol

yep i am. he eats 5 mins, then pulls off so i burp him, but he doesn't continue to eat.

Is he growing fine and having enough wet/poopy dipes? If so then he's very efficient and Getting what he needs in that 5 mins.

yyep, i change him 7-10 times daily, and i'm sure he's growing because he's a lot heavier. the health care nurse said he should feed 10-20 mins on each boob so i was worried.

Some kids just eat faster. My daughter used to eat for an hour or more at a time some get it get their food and are done. There is no magic number for how long they should eat.
