Can you pump instead?

Usually by 6 months all the "kinks" have been worked out. I wouldnt make a plan to stop at 6 months just go with it until its no longer working for you or your child.

i don't think breast milk taste much better, but i haven't tried either lmao. i'm thinking about bf and formula feeding, instead of just bf.

Breast milk is very sweet. I've drank it and so has my husband, it's really good.

idk, i just feel like he's not eating enough. he'll eat for 5 mins every 2-3 hours.. i know it's expensive and a pain in the ass, but easier when i'm out in public to give him a bottle. (he won't even suck on a bottle, and hardly a pacifier) i tried pumping, but not even an oz comes out from each boob lol

If he is peeing/pooping/and gaining then he is eating enough.

Thats actually pretty good for someone who has a 3 week old and is EBF.

I gave my oldest formula around 7 months but only because I couldn't keep up with his demands by then, and he left teeth marks by latching too tightly. My second never had formula or a bottle (he refused) and nursed to about a year old. DD is 6 months old and has no interest at all in solids yet she's a boobie baby lol I plan to let her keep nursing as long as she wants to.

I agree. A hand pump is sometimes harder to get milk out. And plus your milk stats regulating so you wont be able to pump as much but it's no indication of how much milk u have. Like someone else said as long as he's gaining weight appropriately and having enough wet/poopy dipes he's fine.

And as for taste, bm is waaaay better haha.

i find it easier to squeeze it out myself haha. i heard most girls get 2oz on each boob. i haven't had him weighed since 2 weeks, but he looks chubby lol. i just worry too much. i'm too scared to try it

my daughter is going to be 1 this month. I have breast fed her since day one no formula. She self weaned, but I have pumped through out the year and she now has it in her sippy.
I dont look down upon mothers who chose to formula feed. It just isn't something I will do unless absolutely necessary

I EBF my twins for about 5 weeks. Then started pumping and feeding them breastmilk from bottles until they were almost 6 months. I was at the end of my rope at 5 weeks because they were not filling up (poor latch and suck) and I was getting zero sleep and feeding almost constantly. I was a crazy person! I never looked back after I started pumping. It was a pain in that there was stuff we had to wash constantly, but I was able to get help with feeding the girls and sleep through a feeding or two when we had help.
We finally switched to formula around 6 months due to necessity. We discovered a milk protein allergy and couldn't get it under control by my diet changes. It's even easier now because I don't have to spend so much time pumping, so that's the main plus. The downside is that it's costly for us. Other than that, I think the girls are thriving and I'm not worried about it.
