I feel the same way, but so many people just don't tip, whether the server did a great job or not.

My friend worked at Steak n Shake and they can't add the gratuity I guess but she had this huge group come in (30+ people) and she spent basically her entire shift waiting on them so she didn't get any other tables. Their bill was over $300 and they paid with gift cards and not a single person left her a tip.

Definitely. And I think leaving a note like that kind of implies that one is a dirt bag whether there was smurffy service or not. If you don't like the service, complain while there, don't leave a note on the bill and run off.

I've had similar experiences, but more like bills of $150 and being stiffed after they paid with gift cards. Never on $300!! I couldn't imagine, especially if it took up my entire section all night and I didn't get the opportunity to make money on other tables.

Yeah I felt horrible for her!

While I do feel bad that the waitress was fired, the company is following their policy. Who knows if it was the manager who fired her, or corporate's orders to let her go. I'm sure she signed something stating that she was not to compromise customers information, nor the company's.

When I began working at BB I signed a contract saying I was not allowed to share sales, special pricing, speak on behalf of BB, etc. A guy in my dept, who was working there for 4 years, posted a sale about black Friday on twitter 5 minutes before the doors opened. He knew better, corporate found out a month and a half later and he was fired. The managers just wanted to write him up and let it go but they were told by corporate to fire him.

She should have blacked out everything but the note. People on the Applebee's "like" page on Facebook are posting the Pastors personal information all over the place now. Since they know her name and city, they found her church, her phone number for her office, and address. It was bad behavior on both parts.

Did anyone go to the original link the OP posted? The comments are pretty hilarious. My friend was talking to me about it today but I don't have FB so I have no idea what she was saying. I work in a restaurant too but it's full of old people. haha. A lot of the older generation use to be waitresses, bussers, bartenders etc and a lot of them tip really well. We do get the occasional 10 percent tippers, even when the service is really good. I know doctors that always tip $20 on their small bills. It's ridiculous to see that that lady actually put on that there, like what in the smurf?

Yep. Someone else said on here in another thread. "Tips shouldn't be expected,but earned" I totally agree with that. I will leave next to nothing if the service was BAD.

I'm a christian and I wouldn't of done what that paster did. I did find it funny when I first saw it.. but was surprised when I found it was a paster.

At the same time she should not of posted his name or anything on the internet that was stupid. Things happen.. I might of a pic and blurred out his name and what not if she felt the need to post it that badly.

While working yesterday myself and another server were actually talking about how we knew if someone was paying with a gift card 9 times out of 10 they don't tip.

I had someone leave the card I assume implying to hsw it as a tip. A whopping 36 cents. Next time they came in they got 36 cents worth of service
