Laundry detergent in toddlers eye
posted 1st Feb
Just wondering if anyone has experienced something similar.
My daughter ( almost 3.5) was asking to help out with laundry so I let her hold the package of detergent (all mighty pacs, free and clear kind) and after she put one in the washer she put her hand back in the bag, grabbed one and it busted in her hands and somehow, either from the pac busting or from her hands it got in her eyes.
Long story short, the eye doctor says it's nothing permanent and her eyes themselves are fine besides one having a bit of a rough cornea, which he says will heal on it's own in a few days. She still won't hardly open her eyes from the irritation and light sensitivity. They have me putting antibiotic ointment on her four times a day.
I feel like the biggest mothering fail ever, because I was standing right next to her and it still happened =(
Anybody have any experience with a rough cornea? How long might it take to heal? I can't stand to see my full of life baby be so lethargic and in pain.
