Agreed.

I just had 2 ladies knock on my door earlier & I told them I was busy. Until today, I haven't had religious people knock on my door in years. Thank goodness they just went away without being pushy.

It got me to thinking though, what is the point of going around trying to convert ppl to your relgion? I mean you either are or you aren't, and most of the time you are just annoying people. I don't care how bored I am, the LAST thing I want is talking religion with a bunch of strangers in my living room. I'm agnostic & keep my beliefs to myself, I think others should do the same.

Las ttime one of them came to my house I asked them how they felt knowing that their religion states only a certain amount of people can enter heaven when the rapture comes yet they devote their lives to bringing more people into their religion, effectively lowering their chances of actually getting admitted.

They never came back.

I may try this. Devil worship is too scandalous...they seem to work harder.

I just say "oh, I'm an atheist" it's true, then I shut the door or pick up my child to look busy and walk back into my house. We don't have a peephole and can't see from the way our windows are positioned, so we always answer in case it's family or the mailman or something.

I don't answer the door to anyone I don't know, unless it's Fed ex, UPS or the guy reading my electric meter.

Maybe in your area they're not but certainly not in my area, I always have to be rude to them for them to get the hint. I've had a few try to push their way into my home until I tell them I will command my dog to attack, pushy bastards.

You say get the hint, but there shouldn't be a hint. Hint implies you're being subtle. I tell them I am not interested, thank you, but they need to leave now. Thats it. Ask what church they are from and call the church if they are not leaving when asked.

either tell them you are atheist or you dont care to talk with them. if you tell them that and they dont go away, get a number you can call and report them

Knocking on my door to "invite me to church" and talk to me about the bible is pretty rude. I don't Believe in it and I don't want to hear about it. I don't go knocking on people's doors telling them all about evolution or the big bang theory. Why? Because they already have their beliefs any information I offer isn't going I Chang that.

in california i never had those people bug me but since i moved here to texas i get them plus those people triying to sell smurf i just dont answer!

You are talking about Jehovah's Witnesses. It doesn't work like that. 144,000 go to heaven to assist God, while the rest of the loyal followers live on Earth when it's restored.

Most the time if you are kind but straight forward and to the point they will leave. Make it known you do not wish for them to come back. Being subtle won't help you here.

Don't answer the door, i used to start talking about random smurf when they would come by, eventually they stopped knocking on my door.
