By law, your child has to be 1 year of age AND 20lbs. That's pretty customary across the US too.

Lol my kid won't be 22 pounds till about 2 years old never mind 1 year old

That's what I thought. I was like umm she's way to young. There like she outgrew her other seat. I said that's fine. But turn it around so she's rear facing.

9 months is way too young to be FFing. My SIL done that too. Stupid.

I was wondering the same thing! Cause a friend on my facebook has her nine month old son facing forward! I'm glad I got to read this!

I wish that was the law here. We just have 'recommendations' and 9kg is the smallest to ff with most carseats.

I waited until my daughter was 2 also.

I've heard (don't know for sure, though) that the law in Sweden requires children to rear face until either 4 or 5.

They're way ahead of the times.
