Ya I know the Clamp isn't even to her chest. I told my best guy friend who's the uncle of the niece. And he told his mom and they are fixing that. Thank goodness.

My SIL waited till her eldest was 3, which I thought was appropriate. But she FF'd her next one at 2, which I still don't agree with. I feel like it's too early for her and it makes me nervous.

Ya I forward faced my daughter at 2. But she weighed like 35 lbs. and she is very tall. I was always so nervous. But her careseat is awesome and makes me feel safe.

My son is 21mos and still hovering around the 20lbs mark. He'll rde rear facing until he meets the height/weight limits for his seat (40lbs and I think 50")

My 11yr old is still required to ride in a booster seat because he is under 4'9"... he'd be riding in one regardless of hte law because I'm a carseat nazi, my oldest rode in a booster until she was almost 5' and 100lbs (as big as the booster allowed).

Law here is 1 AND 20, can be forward facing after that but have to be in a CARSEAT (not booster) until age 5. Booster seats are required for ages 5-8 AND at least 4'9' tall.

At least they will fix that to ensure that baby's safety. The girl that is on my facebook has an appropriate car seat for her son and he's strapped in correctly but he is front facing and he is not a year old until the end of march. I want to say something but I don't really want to overstep either.. I don't know her that well.

Yeah, Emi is 33lbs (turns 2 on Sunday...they JUST FF'd her), so she's a good size, but IDK...it still just makes me kinda nervous. But when I think of it that way, it's less nerve-wracking just because Lilly is 3 and 35lbs and only about an inch taller than Emi (she's been FFing since she turned 3 in November). I think I'm still stuck on how tiny and "underdeveloped" Lilly was at 2 (she was born 13 weeks premature).

Quoting Tανη [CNL]:" I've heard (don't know for sure, though) that the law in Sweden requires children to rear face until either 4 or 5. They're way ahead of the times."

Yep and they have the lowest rate of childhood vehicular accident deaths.

It takes only 1/4" of movement for a child's spinal cord to be severely damaged or severed, 98% of the time this results in death. This can happen from pretty low speed accidents, 30-35mph. rear facing for as long as your carseat will allow is the best way to go.

That's probably why. And you did what was best for Lily.   I'm glad I wasn't the only one who thought that was too young. And I had to say something. Thank goodness they thanked me and didn't bitch me out lol.

AAP suggests up to 2 years of age unless they max out the weight and height requirements of the seat which I think usually tends to be 35lbs? 9months is def. not appropriate unless this baby is the incredible hulk and gigantic!

that seat is a FF seat only that turns into a booster... She needs to get the cheap seat at wallmart and keep her turned around. it also looks out dated u may want to tell them to check the exp date. Also if they try to RF with that the harness slats are to high so she needs to get a different seat.

just because they say 1 and 20 doesn't mean they are uninformed. They are just stating the LAW because this girl, one is FF her 9 month old and 2, is using an expired seat with her child in ALL wrong, she probably wont listen to anything BUT the law!
