I hope that something happens to make me eat my words here, but I just have to get this out... Smurf you My Little Pony. Smurf you for breaking the mold in children's programming and running everything Faust worked for into the ground.

Smurf you for showing us a wonderful character and teaching our children that hard work, lots of study and practice, diligence, and showing respect and responsibility will get you... a crown.


To anyone that doesn't know or care, Twilight Sparkle is apparently turning into an alicorn and becoming a princess at the end of the season.

I've been stewing on this for a few days, but I'm just so god damned mad.

You know children's show's and movies have often been promoting stupid smurf like that for a long time, right? IMO, of course. And I have never watched MLP... so..... I'm sorry I don't understand your outrage. <3

I am so confused. I have never watched MLP, but I genuinely do not see the problem. Can someone by any chance describe the problem to me in a dumbed down explanation so it is more comprehensible for me?

I know, it's about the money now. They didn't expect this version of MLP to take off and so now they're going to milk it. That's cool. I'm just so upset because I really love the show and it was just so...different.

Twilight solved almost every single problem she's faced in the show so far....by READING. Figuring it out. Asking for help. You know, real problem solving smurf. Now there's pictures of her going around in a frilly pink dress just so little girls will want to buy it and it's heartbreaking.

It's not the title itself, I've never had an issue with Celestia being a princess instead of a queen (I know a lot of bronies have had issues with that). It's the fact that they are suddenly girling her up and parading her around! There was NOTHING in the show that ever alluded to her taking this step. It's a money making strategy and that's what really pisses me off. They're just pandering to what little girls are supposed to like and that is the exact opposite of what this show started out to do.

It's just frustrating. I can't expect people to understand why this show has such an older fan-base, but they were finally starting to acknowledge us it seemed. The characters were taking more drastic steps to bettering themselves and learning more universal lessons, you know? It's about multicolored ponies but they haven't ever had an episode that just oozed girliness. They've cut most of the major starters from the show and the creator is out of it and they're just jacking it all up. Blehhh.
