I'm not judging. But based on your post, he doesn't feel good and doesn't need to sit there and scream and cry. Something is obviously hurting him. Try giving him something for his teeth.

Plop him in the bath then! Let him play and it might relax him enough to take a nap.

DD is doing this off and on right now too. she's almost 10 months old and is getting over strep throat and is also teething. she'll be ok one minute, playing with me and crawling on me and climbing me. the next minute, she'll literally THROW herself backwards and arch her back and just WHINE and then start crying. i go through the checklist of things she normally gets upset about. today, she's been fighting taking a nap very badly and has been cranky because of it. sometimes she gets so worked up and all i want to do is sit her down and let her cry because nothing else works... but then i remember she doesn't feel well. it just crosses my mind from stress from trying everything else. if i've tried LITERALLY everything, i'll put her down in her pack n play with some of her toys. nine times out of ten, if nothing else has worked (she's fed, clean diaper, pain meds, teething tablets, teething ring, drink, snack, vick's because she's sick, and won't take a nap), giving her some play time with her toys usually helps. idk, i guess she just gets more interested in something else. i also give her lavender baths if she's really super fussy and not feeling well. that almost always calms her down too. she loves her bath.

some infant pain reliever will probably help him out alot. sometimes it takes some doing with DD to find out how she's comfortable cuddling, but she definitely has been more cuddly more recently. does your DS like baths? maybe you could take one with him?

I've just got back from the out of hours dr. She thinks he possibly has tummy ache. She checked him over and his ears and throat were fine.
Said I'm probably in for another sleepless night but least I now know what is wrong. She said I'm to Lay off the paracetamol and ibuprofen as itl iratate his tummy.
My mum suggested a bit of gripe water and that seems to have settled him a little.

i don't know what paracetamol is, but that sucks. that's why babies are given tylenol alot because it's easier on their tummies. SO can't take anything but tylenol for the same reason. i wish you had some of that. glad you found out what's wrong!
