any mamas good knitters??

Hey ladies I need some help. I'm knitting my first baby blanket with size5 needles and the yarn is size 4 medium yarn and I wanted a SF decent sized blanket for a coworkers baby. How many cast on's do youthink I'm going to need for a decent sized baby blanket??

Hmm. I'm not sure what size 4 yarn is... do you know if it's sport weight, worsted?

I'm guessing you're going to want somewhere between 175-225 with size 5's, but it really depends on the yarn weight.

Are you just doing a garter stitch for the whole blanket?  

Knit a small swatch and do your measurements based off that
