need some advice...

Okay so here's a little back story...
I had my daughter at 34 weeks via emergency c-section. I remember nothing about what happened. I went to my baby shower and went into the hospital I was suppose to be induced the next day and I had two seizures so they took her via c-section. I now have a choice between another c-section or vbac. how do i know whats right for me? I am scared to death to have a vaginal birth. The idea completely horrifys me. but I am considering it because we may want to have one more child and 3 c-sections doesn't sound so good either. I would be okay with two but I have heard about women having a hard time with two or more. I don't want to be bashed but I need some info here PLEASE. I am being pushed both ways. I would like some positive things about both options.

Welp if you are a good candidate for a VBAC there are less risks with that then a repeat c-section.

What part about the vaginal birth scares you?

I was terrified of actually feeling the baby come out, but that was seriously the most relieving part of the whole experience. It was like a release of pressure and I immediately felt better.

honestly its everything. Its something new that I have never experienced. My family is scared that if I try something bad will happen. So I have had zero support. My mother died so I don't really have anyone to tell me the honest to god truth what its like. I have no one willing to tell me their story what it was like for them.

I had a second csection. I had a panic attack when given pitocin & then the baby's heart rate dropped into the 20s. They waited for him to try & recover but he didn't & they rushed me for a csection. With my second he wasn't doing so well to begin with. I was on bestest for threatened IUGR. He was only 25% of where he should have been. I was worried he wouldn't make it through labor or I would have another panic attack & he would be deprived of oxygen. When he was delivered his entire body was literally tangled up in the cord.

It's your decision. You have to do what feels right to you.

that's honestly one of my fears I am so deathly afraid of a natural birth will I not be able to do it or panic?

I think you could do it. But I'd just really talk to your dr because of the health issues with whats been going on in this pregnancy and then how things happened with Wraith. A c-section might be your better option. But it all depends on what your dr thinks. If your MRI comes back normal and things look up by then without anymore issues and your dr signs off on a Vbac I think you should definetly go for it. I had two over 9lb babies vaginally, yes its very scary cause you could always end up with a c-section for whatever reason but I think its super rewarding to go thru with it vaginally. Being fully aware of whats going on and seeing them first thing and holding them. Also less pain I imagine if you have her vaginally vs a c-section atleast when you hold her cause you won't have stitches or staples in your stomach.

there are lots of mommies on here from both sides of the story just my personal experience I see alot more postive birth stories with vbacs but hey I am doing a second csection myself a vbac is not possible for me so look into if its an option for you in the first place before you get attached to the idea because how they cut you inside determines if you can even do it or not but getting that info can also say how your chances are with another csection as well and also it depends on if you dont have problems again like with your first child I hope you do well hun and get to do things the way you want with either choice I believe there might even be forums on here dedicated to each birth method another poster might be able to direct you to those ladies I really hope you can at least try a vbac it seems to empower alot of women and I think it would really help you to get past that fear of the unknown of birth its normal we all have it and I promise you this much dont let those horror stories scare you into your choice make it based off what you think works best for you not how something went wrong for another mom

Do you have to decide like right off? You still got a little bit of time left, I say put it off as long as you can because you never know how your going to be feeling when that time comes.

I've never had a c-section, so mine wasn't a v-bac, but I will tell you my story.

I was induced at 40 weeks. I went in at 5 am and got hooked up to my iv and they started pitocin. Basically if you're not having contractions or if you're not feeling them this makes them stronger and helps you progress. (i was 1cm dilated when I went in).

A couple of hours later at about 7 after monitoring my contractions the doctor came in and broke my water. It wasn't painful, it pretty much felt the same as when I was checked for dilation. After my water was broken he told me that I was OK to get an epidural if I wanted one whenever I was ready.

A few hours later the contractions were getting a little more intense, but they were still bearable. The nurse came in at about 9:30 to check on me and ask if I needed my epidural. I didn't need it, but we discussed that there were several other people also in labor and I decided to go ahead and get it .

After I got my epidural I got a catheter put in because I couldn't control peeing. (but because you're numb you can't feel it.) And I took a big nap. By the time I woke up it was about 4pm and I was 8 cm. I visited with my family for a little while and then I felt like I had to poop.

The nurses came in and said it was time to push, so everyone left the room except for Dh and my mom and I pushed for about an hour. She was still pretty high up, and I wasn't pushing right at first because I was afraid I was going to poop on he doctor lol. Finally I started pushing right and within about 4 pushes she was out, and it was a huge relief. All of the pressure and cramping was gone.

My sister delivered all three of her children via C-Section. They are all three beautiful and healthy children. Her oldest daughter is 8, son is 3, and daughter is 2. She encouraged me to have a C-Section with my baby however I did have mine vaginally. However don't think half way through delivering her I didn't asked for a c-section.   I had been present for my sister's third c-section and the idea of having one myself didn't scare me at all.

I have never had a csection. But I can tell you about the 2 csections my sister had. She went into labor at home at 37 weeks. She wasn't progressing very fast but her water was broken. They gave her pitocin. She got all the way to 10cm. She pushed once. My nephews heartbeat dropped and they rushed her back for an emergency csection. 4 years later she opted for a second csection. They decided to have the csection 4 days away from her due date. In the operating room my nephew got stuck and they couldn't get him out. They tried all sorts of pushing and maneuvering to get him. Finally they had to cut upward by about 3 inches from her first incision and use a vacuum on his head to get him out. He was terribly bruised as was my sister. He looked like he had been in a baby bar fight in the words of my sister. He was not a big baby he was 7 lbs. 2 oz. 19 inches.

thank you ladiesfor all the responces without bashing!! It helps so much to have any input at all really. I'm so terrified and talking about it seems to help relieve a little bit of the anxiety im feeling!! I'm going to continue to read online and look on BG and wait to see what happens :]
