Aww!

Devan and the girls picked her out. They originally picked out a great dane mix but she got adopted ahead of us, so they picked Daxie

She was so wittle! lol

OMG! That first picture of your dog laying on the back of the couch!

A friend of mine in AZ has a red pit. She is huge and thinks she is a lap dog. I love her like crazy.

Dog breeds are not an easy task to figure out! Lol

Plays with it   since it has been so cold her poop freezes and she sneaks it in the house to play with lol I am thankful it is frozen but a couple times I didn't catch her with it and ended up stepping in semi-frozen dog poop *shudder*

Awww. The dog I was originally wanting was adopted as I was standing there, my heart broke. And then DH noticed this guy hanging out, very quietly. We decided that we'd take him outside to play. He warmed right up to us (they marked him as "shy and nervous"). He was fantastic! We played with him for 45 minutes and left with him   He went trick or treating with us the next week and he's been great ever since.

We got ours shortly after we moved to Golden Valley, AZ. (I was 7)

A friend of my parent's found Lucky in the desert. She was tiny enough to hold in both hands with ease. (That's what my parents always said, I remember her being a similar size to the photo you just posted).

Anyways, my parents seemed to think that she was thrown out of a moving vehicle, and was possibly abused with water. She always hated car rides, and on top of that was terrified of water. Not to mention her tail was only about 5 inches long. The Vet seemed to think it had been broken rather than cut or cropped, and told us that for her breed it is odd that she was afraid of both getting wet and going for car rides.

aww
I love adopting dogs! Daxie was a 'shy and nervous' as well, she actually was like that for a couple days with us and a couple weeks with everyone else...and now sometimes I miss when she hid under the table lol but she is a very good dog!
Except...she GROWLS at inanimate objects outside lmao she was freaking out deep throat growling the other day...at a plastic sack in our yard. Scared the CRAP out of me because she NEVER growls lol

Eeew. I am not sure which is worse. Stepping in cold semi frozen poo, or warm fresh poo.

I wish I could find a picture of lucky when she was younger. I swear you would look at her in think, "OMG that's my dog!" Aside from the beautiful brown/red fur your puppy has! (Can't tell by the pic if she has red or brown fur, so forgive me for that!).

Even the facial expressions match!

Poor baby   I never did understand how people can abuse and abandoned their pets.

Daxie is not a huge fan of car rides but I am *thinking* that it might be because she thinks she is going back to the shelter. She does better now

Neither lol
It got really warm out a week or so ago and we had SO many piles of dog poop on the porch! Daxie was bringing them onto the porch and leaving them for us I guess, I made DH take care of that lol

She is a blue, black and tannish brown color lol Maaaybe they are long lost relatives

Haha. Brols isn't much of a growler either, but he sure is nosey. He wants to be involved in everything. I think he really wants to be part-human.

I'll never understand it either. The first animal hospital I have ever worked for was contracted with Friends of Pets, which was a private animal rescue group. (At least I think it is private.. It's been like 8 years since I have worked there, so I am no longer familiar with the rescue group). Anyways, I have seen many rescue pets go through there. I fell in love with one dog who was a rescue up for adoption. He grew very protective of me pretty quick. He was a good dog all around, but he responded best to me. I was saddened when he got adopted because I knew I wouldn't see him again but, at the same time I was happy that he had a home.

I always view my pets as a member of the family. If anyone complains about them, I go on a brief summary of how my pets are just like my kids. The only differences is they are hairy, walk on all 4's and don't speak clearly.

Daxie is worse than the kids! She follows me into the bathroom ever gosh darn time! She is definitely Devan's (DH) dog but I am a close second lol yesterday morning she got in BIG trouble for chewing up Devan's $50 gloves (who needs 50 dollar gloves??!) and she hid in my arm pit

We are the same way. All the animals I have are my family; Hell, I am even attached to my stupid Beta fish lol he wasn't doing so well (he is a 8 month old wal-mart fish) and I cried! He is fine now lol

I could never work in that area because I would end up taking a heck of a lot of animals home lol

She is proud of her poo and wants to show you what a good job she did. Animals are funny like that.

The cat I had growing up. (My parents didn't have a screen on their bedroom window). Anyways, my cat was outside their bedroom window one night meowing because he wanted in. (It was late).

So my parents opened the window to let him in. He jumps in the window onto the bed, and hovered over my mom's face. (Which was odd because he was NEVER an affectionate cat. We always joked around saying he adopted us.).

Anyways, my mom still groggy from being woken up, her eyes in the process of adjusting to the dark, she is looking at my cat, and he has a tail hanging out of his mouth. My mom jumped out of bed so quick when she realized he had a dead Kangaroo Rat in his mouth! He went right back out the window (Willingly). He just wanted to show us what he caught.

Lmao!

I had a cat that left mice in front of our door, we learned VERY quickly to look before we stepped   And my step-dad's cat would drop mouse HEADS down the heating vent lmao
