over whelmed :(

I am 37 weeks today 2cm dilated 50%effaced. I have been this way since 28weeks. Pre term labor stopped and pelvic rest till 34weeks. I in no way want to do anything to rush the baby. I know he will come when ready. My question is has anyone had something similar happen to them? How far did you make it before you popped? The full 40 more or less? If less did you do anything to kick in the labor? I need to keep this baby in as close to my due date as possible. My husband is in the navy and wont be home til Feb 20th hopefully and my due date is Feb 22nd. I would hate for him to miss his birth

You're absolutely right, they'll come when they're ready, take it easy and your body will do the rest. Just remind/remember that the baby won't stay in there forever, women have been giving birth literally since existence (duhh) and our bodies GOT THIS!  

Dilation has nothing to do with when labor will start. You could pop tonight or you could go overdue. Just try to hang in there mama! By the time I was 37 weeks with my previous pregnancies I was ready to get that baby OUT! But I completely understand why you are trying to hang in there. Just spend the next few weeks resting. If this is your first, you probably won't go until right around your due date. I've always heard you have a very high chance of going overdue with your first, but I don't really know because everyone is different and I didn't go overdue, I was 4 days early. Sending good vibes and prayers for that baby to stay parked until daddy gets home!
