posted 31st Jan
I am trying this American thing called tater tot casserole tonight for the first time. I was wondering if any mommas on here have quick and easy (and cheap) recipes for it?

Mix cooked ground beef and cream of mushroom soup up.
Drain string beans and mix with beef and soup

Line bottom on dish with layer of tater tots, put mix on top, another layer of tots on top. Cook by following the directions on the bag of tater tots while covered with aluminum foil.

When done, sprinkle with shredded cheese.

Is it nice?

We LOVE tator tot casserole   In fact, you've now inspired me to make it this weekend since it's been a while since I've made it!

Ingredients:
1 pound of hamburger
3/4 cup rice (we use minute rice)
small onion (chopped)
1 can mushroom soup
1 can cream of celery soup
1/2 cup water
bag of frozen tater tots

Directions:
brown hamburger and onion together. drain. In casserole dish, mix together hamburger/onion, rice, mushroom soup, and half the can of cream of celery soup. Put frozen tater tots on top (sometimes I just do an even layer, sometimes I just dump the whole bag on and go with it). Mix together remaining cream of celery soup and a 1/2 cup of water. Bake at 350 degrees (F) for 30 minutes covered. Uncover and bake for 30 more minutes uncovered.

You can also bake the tots separate and put them on top after they're cooked (tots are crunchier then and my kids prefer them that way)
