iud vs implanon

What are the differences between the copper and hormonal iuds? Also, would you prefer an iud over implanon, or vice versa? If you have any of these, what side effects do you have and how do you like it?

Ive had the mirena and my current one paragard(copper) Paragard has no hormones, so it doesnt interfere with your body.

I gained 30lbs on mirena and i have gained nothing while being on paragard. ihave had them both almost the same time now.

My friend had implanon and had it removed, it messed with her body alot and she could feel it in her arm and i think she scarred up.

I love my paragard, no hormones, my periods are like 3-4 days normal. i dont have any crazy things going on. I love it. I have it 2 yrs now.

not sure the difference really, but paragard is hormone free..

I hate my implanon. I want to get it removed and get something else. I have three periods a month so I am not bleeding like five days out of a month (tmi sorry) but that is my reasoning behind hating it. I've had it since May.

I had implanon for a lil over 2 years .. It was great while I was breast feeding but when I stopped at 18 months pp .. I began to have periods at 20month pp.. Which woulda been fine but I bled for 3 weeks straight at a time ... Go a couple week free then 3 more weeks bleeding .. I had it removed after bout 5 months of that

Oh and is a side effect of paragard weight gain ? My OB told me it isn't, but when I read the pamphlet it said it is.

i gained 30lbs with mirena, i havent gained anything with paragard. im not doing anything different from my mirena either.

So I got the paragard today, and omg it hurt so bad. Lol. The worst was when she was measuring my cervix. I had to make her stop cuz I couldn't handle it. But its in and now I'm having some cramping.

Thats what hurt on me. Was her measuring my cervix. The insertion wasn't that bad, but i thought i was going to pass out from the pain of the measuring!
