My little sweetheart was born on January 17th, his due date.
I went in at 12 am on Thursday (January 17) morning to be induced. Right before I checked it, I lost my mucous plug and had my bloody show. They didn't have to give me anything to thin out my cervix as they had planned because I was already 90% effaced. I was have irregular contractions too. They decided to start me on pitocin at 430 am. My contractions were good 4-7 minutes apart before the pitocin and uncomfortable but bearable. Then they started the pitocin at 5, and the contractions were not longer bearable. I was screaming in pain, well moaning literally. I was begging for the epidural at this time, but they told me I had to wait. After being on pitocin for a short while, my babys heart rate began to drop so they lowered the pitocin to 1. After finally getting his heart rate back up, they checked me and i was only 3 cm but 100% effaced. I finally convinced them to get me the epidural around 9am. Although, the epidural gave me the shakes and I couldn't catch my breath so they gave me oxygen. After the epidural at around 10, they checked me and I was 5cm dilated. My parents had shown up and was trying to calm me. At 1045, I told my mom that I felt tons of pressure. She went get the nurse, and she checked me and told me I was 10 cm DILATED!!!
I was so happy as they were getting everything ready for me to push. I was so ready to meet my little guy. I began pushing at around 11, and i was too exhausted so i took a hour break. Then began pushing again at 1145. & 1 hour later at 1241 pm, my precious little guy made his entrance into the world (with the help of a vacuum). The cord was wrapped around his neck, and his feet were to his head but he was perfectly healthy screaming his lungs out! I couldn't ask for anything more! He's my entire world! I love him more than anyone can ever imagine. I can't believe is 2 weeks already. Time is sure flying!
