Im a crying mess.

Today I had my first session with a therapist and we did the usual gathering background information and talking about my issues. It made me realize I don't loved.   I'm starting to feel loved by my mom she started spending time with me at night but I don't feel closer to my dad at all and I don't feel like he loves me. I just want to spend more time with my mom. My dad gotjealous that she's been spending more time with me. I know I'm an adult but I just want my mom.   I don't know why I'm such a weepy baby right now.

  I'm sorry. I hope things get better. Hopefully he won't be so jealous. And you all can spend time together.

That's how therapy works sometimes. You don't realize how much smurf bothers you until you talk about it and actually feel like smurf instead of just ignoring it. That's how you heal.

Just continue to be open and honest OP. It's tough but it sounds like it's working.

I didnt realize it until I got home..My mom was rubbing my shoulders and I started crying.

Yeah, therapy is rough. I say it's like having to rebreak a bone so it sets right. Or it ripping open wounds so they can heal correctly. I find it usually gets worse before it gets better because you are actually confronting issues instead of pretending they aren't there.

About half of the time I leave the therapist's office worse off than I came in. In the long run though its better.
