ground beef

I bought some monday night, used half the pack, wrapped it up..

its still pink but turning a bit brown, and it smells okay, but i always think Ground beef stinks... still good to make tacos tonight? just cook it real well?

You didn't freeze it? Personally I wouldn't use it anymore.

3 days seems like a lot. If you're unsure and want to play it safe, maybe pick off the brown bits and just use the pink part?

Also, I believe if you were smelling rotten meat, you would know.

If the other half was in the freezer then i think it's ok but if it was in the refrigerator than i wouldn't use it.

It doesn't have to smell rotten to be full of bacteria.

Do you have it in the fridge or freezer? I tend to not use it after its first 24-36 hours out of the freezer. But I'm a freak about meat and freshness, meat is a new addition to our diet. Lol

i think its still good. next time put it in the fezer =)
but like the other mama said to be safe pick off the brown meat.

I have no idea. I never refrigerate meat if I don't plan on using it the same/next day. I keep all my stuff in the freezer.

Beef is suppose to be brown. They dye it pink. It's fine if you had it wrapped up. It sits in store for days.

It's still okay if you use it tonight. If you don't you'll need to throw it out.

Umm that's not true. Fresh beef is red/pink.

If you get it right after its slaughtered it's RED.

Beef at the grocery store is pink because that add that nasty crap to it. I'm assuming she didn't get freshly slaughtered beef. All our beef, which we raise and slaughter ourselves is brown after it hangs for 2 weeks and then is cut up and frozen.

If its 3 days old I'd eat it. It probably hangs in the butcher for a few weeks. It's not killed and ground on Monday.
