36 week appointment

So I had my 36 week appointment today. Doc said that she has definitely dropped and when she checked for dilation she said I am 1 cm and 50% effaced. Doc expects her to be here in the next two weeks so I am super excited to meet my baby girl. Although I am still scheduled at work through the 12th, so I am hoping that she at least waits until then.

What makes your doc think baby will be here in 2 weeks? Dilation doesn't really mean anything.

Baby dropped at 34wks and I've been 1cm and fully effaced since then. My doctor hasn't given me any false hope, just talked about our options if I went past my due date.
