Best convertable car seat

posted 31st Jan
If you have a picture or link that would be awesome. LO is 20 lbs but I still don't want to put him forward yet but he's getting to long for what he's in and I see convertable car seats sit a little deeper to where he can be rear seating for a little longer. (Why I don't want to switch yet you wonder, lol I'm just anal and feel still at age one,13 months they don't have full control over the neck if in a car accident) price is not an issue, TIA have a good day ladies

I dont have a link but we loved the Britax Marathon. It's not cheap but it's comfie and easy to wash AND it has lots of nice fabics.
I have friends who would never get anything but that model.

Britax's are good if you have short kids. But they are typically outgrown height before weight.

The Radian RF to 45lbs, the foonf to 50.

The boulevard goes to 49in. My 4yr old is only about 42in. so they can fit for awhile. I could fit my 4 1/2 yr old in it still!

I honestly don't understand the Britax 'craze'. Somewhere along the line people have put in others heads that they're the best seat to get. Sure they're good for some kids, but there's other seats, even cheaper seats, that will last longer.

This was my little boy about 3 months ago in his Radian. He was almost 2 1/2 in this picture.

when we bought our carseats i just looked up reviews on the best carseat and safety and went off of that. Had it been another brand i would of got that. but i love our britaxs though.

I need a compact seat for super tall children that also doesn't sit up high on a base. My options are so limited and the ones that list high RF weights can't fit in either of our vehicles (RX-8, CX-5, Pacifica) without hitting the front seats. I'm not convinced this has been well thought through by the seat manufacturers. Therefore, ERF doesn't work for me too long. RJ was flipped FF because he outgrew the last allowed RF setting on his convertible and I'm sure by fall he'll outgrow the height on his seat FF as well since he was already 36" in October. He fits in most boosters now, but I want him in a 5-point for a few more years if I can.

Have you tried a Radian w/ an angle adjuster?

ETA or could you put the baby in the middle?

Yeah. Does not fit in my car or my mom's at all as the safety techs said there must be at least 1 inch between the carseat and the front seat. We've even shoved the passenger seat as far forward as it can possibly go, so much so that a person's can't actually even sit in the front seat, and it was still a problem. Not to mention the need for contortionist child to get in RF. It was such a struggle and fight to get him in the car including blood curdling screams while driving from him being scrunched up that I flipped him FF. No more problems. I'm mainly just going to need to find a bigger FF seat for him in the not too distant future. I'll have more options for that than I did for RF seats. I love SO's Recaro ProRide seat though and he's still got about 6-8 inches before he outgrows that one.
