How do you say dahlia?

I like it da lee ah but my mum is a florist and said its pronounced day lee ah.
And is the lia bit said like Leah or 'Lya' lol does that even make sense??

I really pronounce it like doll-ya. Or maybe dahl-ya.

That's how I say it anyway. The florist I went to the other day says it that way too so I guess it's just a preference really

ive always heard it da-lee-ah like u said lol never heard it the way mom said it. im having a boy but if he was a girl it was gonna be dahlianna  

My friends daughters name   she pronounces it dah-leah

This is the way I've always heard it, too.

I feel like the lia should be like, blended together. Like saying it da-lee-ah seems choppy to me  

I've never actually heard the name pronounced except for on Suburgatory  

I supposed it depends where you're from? I am from east coast US and it sounds like Doll-ya but you have to add my yankee accent to that. I'm sure it sounds very different with a NZ accent

That's the only way I've ever heard it pronounced.

I really only found that the British pronounce it the way your mom does. It's the British English pronounciation.

I pronounce it the way you do. Dah-lee-ya. I think.
