Ear infection?

What do Pedi's do for ear infections? I think my son is starting to get one. The past few days when he is having a fit he will pull on one of his ears and it's really hard to get him to calm down. He has also had a loss in appetite, normally he eats 4oz and now he will barely eat 2oz at a time.

I had to reschedule his appointment bc as soon as we got checked into his appointment for his 4month check up his doctor had to go deliver a baby and I could either wait there in his office for an hour or longer or reschedule. So I won't be back in there until 3 tomorrow. I just hope it doesn't progress to where we will have to go to the ER.

Everytime Macie's had one she's gotten antibiotics.

at first my son was prescribed to the usual amoxicillian with his first ear infection but we found out he was allergic to it, so after that he was prescribed something else which was similar

then one time there was one that wouldnt go away, and he got super sick so they ended up giving him a shot in the butt of a super strong antibiotic

Do u bf by any chance? That cured mine overnight. They'll prolly just give u meds.

thanks for the answer, I've held on for 4monts of him not getting sick, even with this nasty flu bug. I just hope it doesn't get worse before his appointment tomorrow.

Well at least u have an appt. good luck. Dd just had one not too long ago and she was miserable. She went to the er because she was screaming and crying in the middle of the night begging to go to the dr.

I went through one screaming fit as soon as we left the Dr. and it lasted until he wore himself out. He's been sleeping for 2.5 hours now. But he has no fever which is good.

I guess, I thought it was more of a headache but my mom was sure it was an ear infection starting bc he's been doing it for days. But the doc looked inside of them today and said everything is fine. He's been chewing on stuffed animals like crazy lately lol
