2yr olds still having bottles.

Before I had my baby, I basically had DD1 off bottles apart from one before bed. When DD2 came along she kind if went backwards like a baby again. Wanting bottles and pacis. The pacis weren't an issue she just carried it around with her. I started givin her bottles again and thought well ill just deal with it later. Later has come, and she's a lot more stubborn, older, and knows what she wants, it's a lot harder.

She drinks from a cup but only water, she won't drink milk unless its in a bottle. She has a hundred different sippy cups and will drink water from all of them but not milk.
She's screams and has a tantrum over bottles. For the past week or so she hasn't had a morning bottle but its still a drama in the morning an dealing with tantrums when I make DD2 her bottle.

When quitting bottles in older toddlers, how did you do it? Cold turkey or did you phase out one bottle at a time?
She's still having one in the afternoon and at night before bed.

My SIL used the birth of our baby to get her 2yo off bottles. When I was pregnant and she was talking about the baby in my tummy she was saying things like, "You're a big boy now, bottles are for babies, do you want to give your bottle to the baby?" It took awhile, but it worked. He "gave" all his bottles to Lucas and drinks out of sippys or normal drink bottles now  

I had my son say bye bye to his bottles, and put them up. He likes everything related to being a BIG BOY.

DS started using them as a comfort thing. He never had a dummh so he would just sit there and suck the bottle for ages even when it was empty. I took them all one morning and hid them. Now he only has sippy cups. He didnt really notice but he gets grumpy when we are around other kids that have bottles.

She's gone real babyish. And she's just turned 2, I'm not sure she can understand the whole concept of explaining things. I don't know whether to just take them all away or phase one at a time. She doesn't talk very well either.
When she asks for a bottle I tell her she can have a cup and stuff. She just takes it and throws it on the ground.
I guess she's not understanding why her sister has bottles but she can't anymore?

Yea if I didn't have a baby I'd just throw them all lol but I can't do that.
I thought about getting the baby new bottles because they both use the same bottles. But chucking the old ones and buying new ones for just the baby.

My son had a bottle till he was 3 1/2. He slowly weaned himself off and I didnt offer. IMO weaning them off slowly is the way to go. If mine wouldnt have done it I would have started around 4. Good luck!

My 16 month old still has a bottle at naps and bedtime...I just wanted throw out there that they understand a lot more than you think they do. I talk to my son and explain things like I would an older child, just because he's little and may not understand everything doesn't mean he doesn't get the concept of what I'm trying to say. Just try explaining it to her that bottles are for babies, even ask her if she's a baby or big girl and go from there.   Good luck!!!
