NO!!! DONT DO THAT!!! STOP IT!!! DONT HIT!!! NOOOO!!!

Do any of you parents to toddlers feel youre constantly telling your child to stop hitting biting throwing touching grabbing etc. It doesnt seem to matter what I do either smack his hand his butt or put him in time out or taking away whatever toy he chucks at someone. I am consistent in making sure he has a consequence of some sort but lordy it does not matter to him. After he gets over his punishment hes just back doing the next thing. TODDLERS ARE TERRIBLE lol

No. My toddler isn't a hitter or a biter, but she does like to take things apart... just like her daddy.

He is so little, he may not realize he is being punished and only sees the attention of it

Do u show and tell him what to do instead? Focusing on the negative reinforces the behavior.

its so hard sometimes and hes only 20 months i cant imagine how defiant he will be these next couple years

My son is not a hitter but had to become one to protect himself since his cousin is,i usually smack his hand pull him away from what ever has caused the problem.But yes they can be terrible,thats the main reason i kinda dont want another baby since i dont want to have to deal with that all the time.

yes i do this quite often and when he does what hes supposed to or listens i always tell him thank you or good job or give him hugs and kisses

I tell him and show him exactly what im saying if he throws his toy at someone i tell him no its not nice to throw toys at people and sit him in time out for 1 min and them tell him again what he did and tell him i love him and give him a kiss and them make him say sorry to whoever he threw it at. just an example. I like the nanny 911 tactics for punishment the most. seems to work best

Lol... my Maksi is bad... he's 16 months,
he dosnt act up with me but he's a pest to his dad and my mom... he has 2 middle names, so when he gets in trouble I yell *Maksim Rene!!!*
And he will say from where ever he is *Raauul*  

If he head butts, pinches or bites someones playing with him, he chases my mom around her house trying to bite her because she laughs, at him he thinks their playing... lol

He dosnt do it to other kids or his siblings...

this is exactly what happened with my son. his cousin is 4 months older than him and is very aggressive. My son was pretty mellow on the hitting and biting part but now hes picking it up from his cousin ugh

Yup   he's terrible... if I'm telling him to do something, or to come here, he waves his arms like, *forget this I'm out*

If his dad tells him something he shakes his head *no* and walks away...

He's obsessed with plush blankets if ur using 1, he walks over and takes it... if u don't give it up he will sit on it and start rubbing his face on it... till he grosses u out and u give it up and he will take it to his bed... he stole 2 from fam members and we bought him 3, he needs all of them... all the time my poor aunt has been trying to get hers back for 1 year, he snatches it back and looks at her like she's short... lol
