Hernia?

how can you tell if a baby has a hernia? my son is 2 months old, his belly button sticks out sooo far! my prenatel nurse said he may have one, she felt and said it was soft but he could still have one. what would you usually feel if they have one? he has a doctor appointment tomorrow, im going to ask his doctor but has anyones baby ever had one before?

It's very hard to tell just be feel without schooling, but it is common and I wouldn't fret too much about it   The dr will figure it out for you

If his belly button sticks out, you could try taping a quarter or 50 cent piece to it to keep it in. All my brothers had it when they were babies and my dad says that this helps. Not sure how or why though, and that was YEARS ago. lol

lol actually my uncle told me the same thing! i just wanna make sure it's not a hernia. cause it sticks out like sooo far, and his belly looks kind of big in the area. i know he is chubby, but his belly is big lol.

The doctor knew from birth. I have to go see a specialist at the Childrens Hospital in a couple weeks. I am beyond scared for the surgery

i don't blame you honey, i would be too! idk you, but ill be praying for your little one! im sure everything will go ok(:
i know my son's belly button has been poking out like this since birth, so im hoping he doesn't have one! they say it should fix itself by the time they are 2, but i think it's causing him to vomit and his belly is like really big, like perfectly round big. so idk, im gonna talk to them just to be safe!
