Weight Problem?

posted 31st Jan
Before I got pregnant, I weighed anywhere from 93-100lbs. It continually went back and forth, but I didn't pay much attention to it. I was 93lbs at the beginning of my pregnancy and 121lbs at the very end of it. About two months after I had my LO, I was back at my pre-pregnancy weight and happy with how I looked. Almost three months have went by, and my weight is still dropping. Last week it was 88.7, but now I'm down to 86lbs. I'm not trying to lose weight, I've actually been trying to gain it since I dropped down into the 80s but nothing seems to be working. I have no idea what would be causing the weight loss and it's starting to scare me. I don't know if this is normal post-pregnancy and I haven't yet mentioned it to my doctor.. but has this happened to anyone else or has anyone heard of this happening?

Yeah, when I was your age, I weighed about 90 pounds. Heck, at 15 I only weighed 70 pounds. Your metabolism is still super high. How long has it been since you had your baby? Are you breastfeeding? Eating enough protein? How tall are you?

I'm 5'3. It's been almost five months since I had him, and I am breast feeding. I've definitely been eating enough protein. I try to keep a really close watch on how much proteins, fibers, sugars, ect. I'm consuming on a daily basis.

Are you breast feeding? If you are, try eating while you're nursing.. i always drank a yogurt drink or boost drink. Make sure you are taking in enough calories each day..Myfitnesspal has helped me a lot to be sure I was getting enough. I lost ten more pounds than I gained during pregnancy though

I would add a whey protein shake to your diet as well

I couldn't keep on the weight when I was breastfeeding. I dropped from 105 to 100. I had to eat constantly. They say you need to consume an extra 500 calories while breastfeeding. Maybe try adding a supplement like Boost or Ensure to your diet.

That's the thing, the past two weeks I've been consuming more than the recommended calories for my height and age. I'm just afraid that I'm going to keep losing weight and end up looking like a corpse. People have already been commenting on how skinny I am even after I just had a baby and my BD is becoming concerned.

I've been consuming around 250-300 calories over, so I'll try boosting that up some. I'm going to look up Boost and Ensure now!
