We did and we had our daughter the middle of December.

My husband did them himself. I'm going to check tonight. Thanks  I knew that sounded wrong. I just went to the irs website and it said that he should qualify.

I had my daughter in October 2012 and I still got to claim her for the whole year.

Id they are born before the start of the new year, you get to claim them even if its only by a second. definately do an amend!

You just need to have their social security number and their birth date.

i did mine on turbotax. i got it. my son was born on 12/1/12 lol

My daughter was born 12/28/12 and I got credit for her.

My tax guy said you can enter 12 for the months you provided support even though they weren't born. If you enter 1 because they were born in Dec, than you won't get credit. Maybe that's what happened?

That's exactly what happened. We took another look and got it all fixed! Thanks a bunch

You should have received it by now. Did you fill out the paperwork in the hospital? I would call your ss office and see what the hold up is. You don't want your LO's info floating around out there.

It took 6 weeks for me to get DSs ss card. And here in IL you have to contact the clerk of courts in order to pick up their birth certificate. Don't know where you live and every where is different.
