How do you decided when to use or not use antibiotics?
And where do you find your natural remedies?
I ask because my poor 18 month old DS has been on antibiotics 4 times in the last 3 months!
Due to the same cold. (Because the weaker antibiotic wouldn't work so they'd give him a stronger one)
I have also been on antibiotics twice in the last 3 months for the exact same thing.
I pretty sick of taking them.

I only use meds if they are scary sick...ie, extremely high fever, screaming constantly etc. My daughter is 13 months and has never been on antibiotics and my son is 3.5 and has had antibiotics once...I find it more beneficial to go to the herb store and find what really works with their bodies.

I will only use Tylenol if a bath, cool rag, fluids don't break a fever after a fre hours. I won't even use teething tablets....I'm a freak.

I don't use anything for teething. lol
Except Tylenol if they REALLY need it, but I hate giving Tylenol.

None of my kids ( ages 5,3 and 1) have never had antibiotics . They only get tylonal with feavers and as far a teething we use cold rags and teethers and if it gets bad tylonal. I let colds run there course and would never use an antibiotic for a cold since colds are viral not bacterial so antibiotics wouldn't do anything for them. Pretty much medication is the last resort for our family. I'm really big on this since there are only like 14 approved antibiotics for kids and studies have shown that after awhile kids can build up immunity to them so you have to keep trying new ones . My biggest fear is for my kids to really need one and it not work because they were givin an antibiotic when they didn't need it. For colds we use homeopathic stuff like honey cough syrup then lots of rest and fluids , they generally get over there colds in a week or less .
