Muscle Spasms ?
posted 31st Jan
Has anybody ever had muscle spasms in their back? I had them a little over a week ago. I could hardly walk. I had to be picked up and put in the truck in order to go to the ER. They told me it was muscle spasms. Well, my question is about after the back muscle spasms. My back still hurts a little, not nearly what it did feel like though. My left leg has a pain that goes down it. The outside of my left calf and thigh kill me. It hurts to walk, it hurts to sit with my leg bent and it hurts to sit with my leg straight out. Has anybody ever had this or could possibly know what this is? I want to go to the Doctor but I want to make sure it's worth going being I have 2 children, 1 being special needs and I don't have a vehicle. So, I would have to get a babysitter and borrow a car. Thanks in Advance for any info.

it sounds like nerve damage/pain to me, since it goes down your leg as well. it could also be your kidneys, I had similar pain once and just thought i pulled a muscle because my back and legs hurt and i could hardly walk. it ended up being a sever kidney infection. I would definetly see a doctor. hope you find relief soon

The shooting pain is your sciatic nerve. I have the same issues & I see a chiropractor and that helps soooooooooo much! No more sciatic pain.

hell yes i get muscle spasms. i got them before i was pregnant and during and of course after. i get them ALL the time in my back. i even get them in my knees and stomach muscles, too.
it does sound like your sciatic nerve, though.

Whenever I first got this I thought it was my sciatic. My SO had something similar a while back. About every 5-7 steps a sharp pain would shoot down my leg and I would be like paralyzed for a minute. When I was at the ER the Doctor said it was a spasm as soon as she touched that spot in my back. I think my best bet would be to go to my PCP I just wanted to be sure it wasn't something that they would just tell me there was nothing they could do for.
