re: 1 baby, but 2 sacs??

I had the same thing another sac to the right of the baby but it was nothing, just some body part, looked just like the babies sac though except empty.

Thank you ladies. I called the nurse and she pretty much called me crazy. She said the u/s only reported one heartbeat so there is no need to look into anything else. Grr... She also told me that my "feelings" paired with my high hormone levels are not enough for them to explore further. I have an appt at 17 weeks, hopefully I can get them to give me an earlier ultrasound, or at the very least, look for 2 heartbeat.s

This is why I hate clinic type offices, you see 4 doctors on a rotating schedule and no one knows (or cares for that matter) about anything unless you are dying.

u can tell them u want to do the ultrasound at 13 weeks its called a nuchal translucency screening its to check the fluid behind the babies neck and do blood work on u and they could look then and that ultrasound is covered but u may have to ask for it. but its def not a yolk sac cause the yolk sac looks like a tiny white dot and its in the same sac as the baby

Thank you, I already asked doc for that test (I got it with DS at another hospital) but he said he doesn't do that test, only the maternal serum between 16-20 weeks. I am kinda stuck, because I live in northern Michigan, and there aren't many other OB's within 1-2 hrs   So I just have to deal with it. I was perplexed when he told me I wasn't getting a 3 mth u/s though.

I tell my daughter she ate her little brother. It's funner then absorption/vanishing baby.. makes me less sad because saying it is amusing.

Try going to an ultrasound on your own, I know there is a fee, but I am sure it will be worth your peace of mind!

Or you can look for Ultrasound institutes near you. I volunteered at an Ultrasound institute because I couldn't find out the sex of my baby at 20 weeks and when I did I let three students scan me. I found out that day it was a little girl and they asked me to come back because my baby took good pictures. In return for being a scan test patient I received a free three d ultrasound.
