Good breathing/motion monitors for babies?

posted 31st Jan
My first baby at 9 months passed of sids in december on the 12th. I am pregnant currently, only 8 weeks almost 9. I know its early but i want to be ready, what are good breathing or motion monitors. I heard angelcare was great but then that one also sucked bad. D: Help?

I am so sorry for your loss! I am very sorry you had to deal with that.

I was so freaked out about that when I was pregnant that I did some looking and found a new monitor that I LOVE. My LO is not almost 15 months and it is still working great! I don't know if somthing "new" has come out since my LO was born but we really love this and would buy it again.
And I see that the price has gone down a lot since we got it. And that is just an added bones. I so love this. if your LO stops breathing for a set amount of time(what ever you pick 10,015 seconds) then it will vibrate under your LO and make an alarm in the room and on your hand held devise. So if you are asleep it will wake you. I am using it right now as my LO is sleeping and I can hear each breath! And the night vision on this thing is AMAZING!

It is called angelcare 3-in-1 video baby monitor

Im sorry for your loss hun

but what ive heard about the Anglecare is good. if there is no breathing or movement for 20 secs (i think you can lower the time not sure) ive not used it but i would suggest something like that and maybe a video monitor as well.

2 different nicu and 4 different docs told me the ones you buy from the store are not reliable. I would try and see if your doc could get you a apnea monitor.

the problem with those (my daughter had one for awhile) they rub sores on their sides, the cords make it hard to put their pjs on and just picking them up you have to becareful and not unplug them.

I'm so sorry for your loss.
We have and still use the Tommee Tippee sensor mat and i have no complaints with it, Other people have said that it goes off randomly but we have not had this, You do have to check the wires are unable to swing as this can cause it to go off but again we havent had any problems x
