I would just keep a close eye and ear out then if I was you. When we were under tornado watch I stayed up majority of the night watching the sky and preparing to move everyone into the tub if need be.

Thanks everyone! I've got the TV on and my phone is currently charging. I don't have any weather apps but my service actually sent me a weather warning earlier.

It usually gets really quite, then it'll hail, and then you'll a train coming. Scariest thing ever. Stay safe. What part of Va you in?

I'll definitely keep my ears open

I'm about 40min south of Richmond.

We were under one all day.

Just if it's raining really hard and really windy and loud and then suddenly gets dead quiet....get to shelter.

Not all places have sirens for tornadoes. The South East has been getting hit with really bad storms all of today. My SIL is in college in NC and they just got a tornado warning. We're having really strong wind here right now and it's supposed t storm later on.

It's only in a tornado warning that you should worry. They usually don't last long.

I've been through a tornado, and we have warnings all Spring long. Nothing really to listen for. A loud vacuum noise, hail?

I just heard that like maybe 15 minutes ago, I didn't know what it was. I've never experienced a tornado

Strong winds, hail, then sirens.

i've been though 2 when i was living near lynchburg VA but only remember the last. i've not heard much besides gusts and wind for warning, just gusts whistling in gaps some and a chair hitting my car and all trashcans (that were suppose to be moved off curb yesterday anways) flipping over, one fliped completely over to wheels in air
