Early ultrasound--HOW accurate??

posted 30th Jan
I had an ultrasound with this baby at 15 weeks, tech said BOY based on what she saw at that time--that was in December. I had an ultrasound at 20 weeks(January), but because of the placenta placement and baby not cooperating we couldn't really get a good look. I've always found out gender between 18-22 weeks. How accurate are scans done at 15 weeks?

I guess. It was girl #4 so the thought of having a boy was foreign and slightly frightening.

We are the opposite here. This will be our 5th son, but we also have 2 girls. Boys dominate here.

A friend of mines sister was tolled at 15 weeks her baby was a girl then the day before Christmas around 20 weeks she found out its a boy! It was pretty sad she wanted a girl soooooo bad and because of all the complications she may not get another chance to have another baby ( her other child is a boy) . I wouldn't go out and buy anything of get set on it to much till you get another ultrasound closer to 20 weeks.

I'll be 23 weeks tomorrow, but because of the placenta we can't really see anything right now. The placenta is right in front of the baby, so we can see head and feet, but nothing in between really well. I have clothes either way from other LO's so I wont be buying much anyway other than diapers. Either way is fine, I'm thrilled to have a healthy baby. I just can't shake these doubts and I've never doubted before. But, there is a first time for everything!! I guess time will tell: )

I found out one day shy of 13 weeks I was having a boy. After weekly ultrasounds (due to being high risk), he's still very, very, very much a boy. I'll be 34 weeks on Friday.

I didn't try to find out earlier though, 15w is the earliest I'd trust it
